Day Programs

Girl Scouts can discover the great outdoors on Saturdays through seven entertaining and educational programs.

Pre-registration is required. Call to register or for more information.  Full payment is due upon registration. Campouts are held rain or shine, but may be cancelled at the garden's discretion and a full refund will be given.

Refunds:  50% of the payment will be refunded if a written notice is emailed, mailed, or faxed to the Education Department two weeks prior to the start of the campout.

WOW Girl Scout Camps

Brownies and Juniors will feel like they have traveled the world after they complete one of our new Saturday Scout programs. Learn from people around the world how the plants that grow around them affects the way they live. Junior Girl Scouts will meet the requirements for their Globe-Trotting Badge and Brownies will complete the Around the World Try-It. 

WOW Girl Scout Campout

Don’t miss exclusive Girl Scout Overnights!  Badge/Try-It activities, meals, campfire and night hikes are provided.  Troops bring their own tents; leaders do not have to be camp qualified. 

Cost is $30 per person and pre-registration is required.

                        Juniors Outdoor Adventurer

 

February Overnight

Reach for the stars at our new February overnight.  Weather won’t be a factor for this overnight because we will be sleeping indoors in Baker hall. We will explore the skies on this chilly winter night.     

February 16-17   Space Explorer/Sky Search

Fee:  $30 per person (includes food and programming)

 

 

Webelo Scouts

Come and discover the great outdoors through our Webelo Forester or Naturalist programs.  Learn about plant and tree layers, identify forest trees and plants and count tree rings as a forester. Or walk on the wild side as you discover critters that live everywhere from under the leaves to the highest tree branches. Program includes a journal, a two-hour Garden Teacher led program and a narrated tram tour.

Cost: $7 per person (minimum of 6)

 

Girl Scout Programs

Explore Norfolk Botanical Gardens Council Patch

Brownies and Juniors can spend Saturday morning or afternoon exploring Norfolk Botanical Gardens and earn our new patch!  The cost is $9 per scout for two hours of exploring with a garden teacher and a patch.  Or you can sign up to do a self guided program and take our discovery packs out to explore the garden for $6 per scout.  Both of the programs include free admission for two leaders. 

 

 

SCIENCE SLEEPOVER FOR GIRLS

Saturday • January 26-27 • 4:30PM-8AM

Love Science? Meet some of the great women scientists that live and work in Hampton Roads! This sleepover is open for any girl 4th-6th grade and her female chaperone. Experience a night of hands-on fun and learning while making new friends! This is a fun time for all of the ladies in your family. Girl Scouts are welcome to join in and earn their career badges.

(Participants will be camping out indoors in Rose Garden Hall)

Cost: Girls $30 ($25 for NBG Members)

         Chaperones $20 ($15 for NBG Members)
